Guess what my problem is

OK, so i am stuck in PA and I slid and slammed my right rear tire into the curb. No bent rim as far as I can tell, but the car rear shakes either when I turn or intermittent when going strait. Normally this wold be great because I can use this to get the rear end loose. lol There is no way I can drive 10 hours back to maine. So what can it be? I going to be at the whims of a subaru dealership in mechaniscburg, PA. Any idea what is can be? In other words I dont want to have a heart attack when the mechanic tells me.

Right now I am praying its not the rim. But if it is.......

anyone want to buy 3 good 08 17 inch impreza rims?

will throw in a damaged one for free

i should put on the donut and see if its still wobbly. But I have a whole set of 03 WRX seats in the back. Going to eat it on this one. I will be lucky if someone can check it out without any advance notice or even find the parts....... In may ways its kind of funny. I always though I would do something like this in portland. Would have been more convenient.

wheel most likely. try putting the spare on and driving around. you can do the drive home on the spare if you drive easy.

PUT THE SPARE ON THE FRONT! and put a good wheel on the back. if it is still shaking it is probably a bent arm/strut or something along that line.

can you see if that corner is visibly out of line, bent or at a weird camber angle?

very likely you bent a lateral link. the lat links are designed to bend in an impact instead of breaking, so even tho it's bent at least the wheel don't flop around loose. the imbalance is probably a toe issue due to one lat link bending more than the other.

unlikely the knuckle bent, those things are strong enough that even the rally guys leave the stock ones pretty much alone.

unfortunately I have gathered a good bit of hard-won practical experience on this subject, doh!

most likely culprit is bent lat link or links. these parts are desgined to withstand impacts by bending a little, instead of letting the dang wheel flop around or fall off. This is a Good Thing since it lets you maintain control after the wreck and maybe even drive quite a few miles if need be to get home.

You win the prize! lol the camber washer got jammed under the piece of metal that holds it in place. It was funny , I was in the waiting room and the mechanic came in and he wanted to show me the problem. When I got to the car there was 3 other guys looking at it. It was one of those weird things that never happen's I guess. lol So in other words it had a really bad camber angle. Now it handles better than it rolled off the lot.

Its good to be back in Maine.

and thank you Cumberland Valley Subaru!
