Hawk attack

MAINIAC XV

The Eco Man
Back in June our cat was sitting outside the front door on the railing when all of a sudden my wife hears a thud sound hitting the house. Looks and doesn`t see our cat runs outside and finds a hawk lying on the ground. Apparently our 12 year old cat was fast enough to avoid the grab and the hawk apparently broke its neck hitting the house. I took a pic of the hawk hoping I could identify it one day and that day came along today. In the Sunday Telagram Outdoors section is a picture of one a Coopers hawk.

This is my Pic.

wow, that is incredible..

Huge props to Ur cat for the wisdom and reflexes to deal with a HUGE mismatch IMHO.. Kitty is a domesticated beast while the hawk does this for a living..

I always tell my wife that a good size predatory bird or even an owl could potentially run off with our ten pound hound. I do feel bad that an animal lost its life while doing its thing to survive but that is life in the big city

We have had dogs for the last 30 years and from 2 to 6 at a time. Our dogs ranged in size from 65 lbs to

on our Elmer a newfie that stood 34" at the withers, same size a dane. Most of our dogs were in 65 to 95 lb range and all family friendly. We have never locked our doors even upstate N.Y. We believe anyone out up to no good will most likley choose another home without dogs to pick on.
