Hello and a question

Hello everyone. I just discovered this forum and I'm in the market for a used Subaru so I had a question. Does anyone know of a reputable dealer of used Subarus in the Portland area? I've checked out the big ones such as Patriot and Pape but my budget is only about $7000 and those larger dealers didn't have anything in my price range. This will be the first time in more than 20 years that I am in the market for a used car (having only owned new ones during this time) and I want to make sure the dealer is reputable. I have to rely on the dealer to be honest since I do not know what to look for when purchasing a used car in general and a used Subaru in particular. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Welcome! If I was you, I would take a trip up to Evergreen Subaru in auburn. Great guys who love Subarus. The best dealership I have ever been to.

 
if you can't find something in your price range on Evergreen's website contact Jim at Evergreen and he can find you what ever you want.

What kind of Subaru might you be looking for? There's a lotttttt of knowledge kicking around in here. We also appreciate not everyone is looking for a racecar.

 
Patriot Subaru = Fail.

They epitomize everything one hates about car dealers, to the letter.

For $7K, Craigslist is your best bet, or here on the forums.

Hi Mark, I'm mostly interested in a Forester or Outback. And I am most definitely not interested in a race car. Just a reliable, inexpensive, family car with a bit of storage room.

That's good to know. I've never heard of a car dealer actively look for something a customer is interested in. Very cool!

 
i bought from patriot too, though technically mines not a subaru so i cant really chime in lol. everyone has different experiences, no biggie. anyways, pretty much ditto on what everyone else said. happy hunting!

 
I was going to say Pape, because my 2004 WRX is sitting on the lot there waiting to be purchased. Last I checked they were asking almost 10K but that is a bit above your range. Maybe they will come down?

As far as Patriot being bad...I've always heard good things. Only reason I didn't buy there is because Pape was closer and also great to work with.
