been loosing a lot of oil lately . i have gone through 10 qts since my last oil change !

i did notice i am leaking a little oil from a spark plug gasket , i just ordered all the parts to change those out .

no othe visable leaks . no oil in my coolant .

busted piston ring??

what tests can i run ? would my compression be down if a ring was busted?

based on your described symptoms, bad ring(s) is likely culprit

is there oil flecked around exhaust or on back bumper? this would be another sign of ring failure, esp given oil consumption you mention

what about blue smoke on accell, this is classic ring symptom. blue smoke on overrun would point up valve guide issues.

and yes, compression/leakdown would point up problem areas. sounds like your suby needs serious love, stat.

Yea sounds like my car was. Does smoke come out of the oil filler tube when you take the cap off? What about the exhaust when you start it in the morning?

Check for puffs of smoke coming out of the oil filler tube. Bluish smoke when you romp on it going down the road.

The oil fouling up your plugs and the amount you are burning is good pointer that you have a pistons rings not sealing.

Like stated above a good compression/leakdown test would answer your question in no time.

If you had an STI burning 1/2 to 1 quart between oil changes is common. Well so I am told because of the blow by and such, but looking you have a N/A motor and 10 qt is craziness.
