I dunno if should be in the grandma and moan forum but........ on thurs I ended up with a nail in my tire. I have been looking around for the cheapest price but its no go an I dont have 245 to buy and install a tire. Anyone know were I can get a good deal on a tire and installment? its for a 08 2.5i (Bridgestone Potenza RE92A)

Is it in the sidewall? Most places can patch it for like $15-$20 if it's in the tread.

Anyways, I've have always done my tire business with TireWarehouse, because they've always treated me right. And I get the same tires everytime on both cars, Conti ExtremeContacts (they even keep the wagon size in stock just for me now), and it usually runs me about $400 for a complete set with the works.

Also, be careful replacing just 1 tire, as even slight differences in diameter can wreak havoc on diffs.

How many miles are on the tires? That'll determine whether or not replacing just one is ok. What size are you looking for? Impreza 2.5i or Outback 2.5i?

and is it a 5spd or auto? the 5spds are much more sensitive to different size tires tripping the AWD into effect. do that for too long and you'll toast your center diff.

as much as I hate to admit its an automatic impreza 2.5i, for milage 15,000, right now I disabled the AWD to take it easy on the drivetrain

skower the racks at Tire Warehouse.

Also might be able to find a useable throw away in the tire piles behind your local Subaru or VW shops.

In the mean time remove nail, put a rope plug in it, and run it. Rope plugs are better than people give them credit for... if you install it as per instructions
