Holiday Traffic...

As if driving 715 miles one way isn't bad enough in one day... traffic on I-84 backed up from the Mass Toll Plaza all the way to the CT line is dreadful... And then idiots who can't read that the EZ Pass lanes are on the right, Tickets are on the left... duh... so then they're cutting across 4 lanes of bumper to bumper traffic to get in the appropriate lane.

Akina Mike got it right, at least... he's in VA until Wednesday! We should all be as lucky as he...

It doesn't help now and maybe wouldn't be any better on a big travel weekend, but can you stay on 90W to near Albany, Take 87S to Newburgh(or Taconic Parkway) and pick up 84W to Scranton? From what I gather you go close to there, Mike??

It's a little longer than going through CT, but a lot less traffic. That is the way my parents travel to and from Georgia.

It was fine on the way back to Pittsburgh... it was the trip home that sucked. I do:

I-76 to PA Route 28

PA Route 28 to I-80

I-80 to I-81

I-81 to I-84

I-84 to I-90

I-90 to I-290

I-290 to I-495

I-495 to I-95

I-95 to ME Route 1

Didn't have much issue till I got into CT on I-84, some slowdowns in NY on I-84 but not bad.

FWIW, check out the route I outlined on a map sometime. Like I said, a little longer, less traffic. It gets you out of CT. You don't have to deal with Hartford, Waterbury, Danbury, Dingleberry, and whatever other towns that end with "bury" in CT.

What does it take you to drive 715 miles in the WRX, 5-6hrs?? >

We always take the Forester cuz my mother sends us home with tons of stuff. Plus I wanted to bring back the floor supports (see Want to Buy section) which are too long for the wrx. My fastest time was just over 10hrs including stops.

I swear at least 2/4 of the people on the road are borderline metally challenged.

That number is closer to 3/4 on holiday weekends.

I travel to NY on the mass pike and I swear to god its like the final scene in Road Warrior.

I once saw a confused driver, go into the EZ-pass lane, then realize that he doesn't have EZpass. So unlike a normal person who would just go "fudge it" and go though, he proceeds to BACK UP, meanwhile the attendent is red-faced screaming at this guy to go through.

LOL!

So true, too. The last time I drove to NY I had people merge

into me without looking 3 times. At least I know my brakes work.

A guy that works here just said "fudge it" and went through. The lady in the other booth told him to. He just got a bill today for $26. A $25 fine + $1 toll.

The best part, it was due on 11/19, today is 11/28.

cookieers.

Must have been in NH. Maine just charges you the toll. Ask me how I know (I have EZ Pass to boot)

Hampton tolls blow. :
