getting trailed on my commute home from work is a nightly occurrence, and i am used to that, you cant drive in BH after 11pm without getting followed. And it is every night. Tonight he trails me for 4 miles or so then flips on the blues, lol. My car has never been inspected since it was bought out of state. I registered it on april 21 and had 5 days to get it inspected but failed to do so. I haven't had a weekday off since and have been working insane-o hours. I tried to explain that to him, but whatever. I worked 15 hours today, 13 or so yesterday, have to be to work tomorrow again by 9:30. I told him that when he asked if i had any time to get it inspected.. when he issued me my lovely 135 dollar ticket for no inspection i asked him why i was pulled over, he said i hit the yellow line a few times. haha.. i was pulled over on a straight away also. after he said that i said whatever and rolled the window up as he was explaining the ticket procedure. He then trailed me another 7ish miles till i was off the island. Towards the end i started going 20mph before the light just to be a dick.

I am rather angry

they are pricks, drop it off behind hannafords in the morning and walk to rups.

i got two tickets last year there for parking of the truck. once i got a ticket for parking in front of Lompoc. i was told i needed to use the muni lot 300 feet away. i tried to reason with him saying i had 15 kegs to deliver and this cuts down the delivery time in half. no go. other time i got a ticket from the parking C U Next Tuesday, for parking behind Coke down in front of Quarter Deck ok so i was a little double parked but all i was doing was picking up a check and invoice.

I got nailed a couple years ago in December coming onto the island at 5:45 AM on a Monday morning (wtf...). I turned left as I got onto the island to go towards BH and put my foot to the floorboards in my LGT. There were no other cars on the road, but when I approached that little rest stop on the right, where the NA statue used to be, he was in there doing a speed trap. At 5:45 AM on a Monday morning in December.

So he pulled me over, I had to have been doing 70ish and still accelerating, and seemed quite irritated. I gave him my stuff and he went back to the cruiser. Within 5 seconds he was back out of the car and stomping towards my car, I was fearing for the worst. He says, "This is your lucky day, I left my ticket book back at the station. But I know you come onto the island about this time everyday and I'll be watching for you." Never saw another speed trap there. True story.

If it has a valid sticker from another state you are good to go. If no sticker at all then your out of luck.

Falmouth, cumberland, kennebunkport, ogunquit..........yea makes sense
i know the falmouth and cumberland part of that to be true! Except i keep finding myself meeting cops from those 2 towns and they seem like decent guys...

My top 5 worst police depts in Maine:

1) Old Town

2) Cumberland

3) Gorham

4) Bar Harbor

5) Berwick

York just barely missed the list. Otherwise most have been pretty nice, I have nothing but good things to say about Portland PD!

ryan13 has had his runins with york.

i have my own horror story about gorham, mostly because i lived on campus. long story short, i got pulled over when i went food shopping with my roommate (who was 22 and happened to buy beer). I was driving, and i was 20. A plain clothed officer apparently followed us in the store, then followed me in his cruiser just outside the parking lot where he pulled me over on suspicion of transporting alcohol by a minor. @#$%^@#%

obviously in the trunk or roommate driving would have been better, but it never crossed my mind i was doing something wrong because it was something so mundane and normal.

just to add: my insurance company sees this as an open bottle charge, which makes for a nice increase. also i lost my liscense for 30 days, which makes me uninsurable by some companies. FML

When I was in college at UMO we were standing in front of our apartment, in Washburn Place, drinking beers. I was on the lawn and my roommate was 1 foot off the lawn in the parking lot. We were both 22 and it was the first beer of the day for both of us. So an Orono cop pulls down the road and sees us and nails my roommate for drinking in public. He was such an ******* about it, too. Once it became clear he was actually going to cite him, we started calling the cop various names and questioning his manhood, etc. You can insult a cop all day long if you want, as long as you don't threaten him and nobody else complains. He was unimpressed, and a month later was even less impressed when the judge dismissed the charges and told the cop not to waste the court's time in trivial matters. Those were the days...

never had a problem with biddeford just ogunquit york and wells

got pulled over four times in the same night for a headlight being out twice in ogunquit once in wells and once in york what a fun time a 20 minute drive took over an hour or so

1) Cumberland

I grew up there, and some of the same idiot cops are still there, along with a new crew of idiots protecting Mayberry, RFD.

Own an STi?

Wingless in Cumberland or you're a Constant Target.

Those goobers have nothing to do but bust +3MPH speeders & kids smoking pot in the cemetery, same as it ever was.

2) OOB

Watch out if your catless.

'Nuff said.

3) Yarmouth

Same as Cumberland

4) Gorham/USM

Obviously.

5) Rt. 302 from Portland to North Conway, NH.
