There's a fine line between the car you can beat the crap out of and the car you need to get to work.

My obs needs about 2k in repairs.. I planned on having it for backroads after I got my new car but my passengers ball joint is going to snap any minute. That's just one of the problems on the list. (struts, brakes, tires, rust and so on) I reallly realllllly want an 03 bugeye (that I would treat very nicely) but my funds have dropped becuase my mom is pissed and I just started a new job.

If I was to find one for around 5k would it be worth getting?

 
entropy never sleeps, regular maintenance is the only antidote. fix that ball joint, stat! then brakes, then tires, then struts. when there's a Big List of probs, start with the crucial stuff first.

 
Its hard not having tools or a garage, or very much knowledge in the first place. I don't have the money for struts.

 
Ive already changed the balljoints on my bugeye, it wasnt that hard. not sure how the OBS are set up, but its not THAT hard. Too bad you dont live closer, i have a garage and tools, and im bored as hell

My step dad just told me i can get a new car but i'm not allowed to have a subaru or jeep becuase they are rally cars and i'll just destroy it. I hate my life right now.

 
If anyone wants my car just message me, It will be under $500. Runs, has a good radio, no fire damage. ahahahahha

but i'm serious.

97' about 173k miles, auto, It was dark blue, then bright pink, now its flat black. Body condition is bad, needs a new fender, dent in the door, dent in the rear panel, huge rust hole above the back tire, dents in the hatch. The passenger side looks pretty good though.

Why it can't get a sticker:

1. needs new tires

2. needs a new ball joint in the passenger side

3. needs four new struts

4. major rust work

5. missing a muffler and connector

6. One of the smaller headlights (I'm not sure what they're called) is loose but it doesn't look like it would fall out.

the extra annoying stuff

7. When you drive it it sounds like the hatch is open because some plastic piece won't stay up.

8. needs one brake light

9. missing the roof rack bolts

10. ****ty paint job, overspray everywhere.

11. seats are ripped

12. carpets ripped

13. ac doesn't work

14. frame is bent out front (thank you ex boyfriend for trying to make me spin out of control while i was driving in auburn)

15. The hood looks crooked from #14

The pro's:

Radio's cool.. heater works. It runs like a champ and never has broken down on me.

I dont expect anyone to buy this honestly...

yikes. I forget the evolution of subes. That error is so dodge omni...

not even the 80s subes did that to the front. my own needed 70mph into a guard rail.

Your insurance on that wrx would be disgusting. You're what, 20? Cause I'm 19 and the lady at progressive didn't think I was serious when I told her I wanted to insure mine, with no previous driving infractions and good grades. You should just get a forester XT

Being a dad with kids 16 & 19yrs old and judging by the description of your car, I'd guess you aren't ready for a WRX. Good luck convincing your parents. If they are that wealthy and can afford such a nice car maybe suggest to them getting you a Focus and sending you to Team ONeil Driving School. You'd learn (mad yo) skillz that'd last a life time and fewer cars would die under your command.

craigslist your car, I bet you can get a few hundred.

 
well.. I'm seventeen, with no marks on my driving record. I beat my car becuase I was being stupid and thought I was just gonna get a new car. I planned on babying my next car. ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i'm just really frustrated becuase I messed up and now i look like an idiot. I would pay for it myself if i didn't make 50 bucks a week.
