idiot drivers story time!

Trying to go northbound from the forest ave exit in Portland (the horrible one over the bridge and there is traffic merging both ways to get to the off ramp) I have a huge SUV with mass plates completely slam on their brakes right at the end ramp almost causing me to rear end them as I was getting ready to punch it to merge with oncoming traffic.

I wound up veering around them after traffic started piling up behind me and just dumped the clutch from redline and who knew a tired old outback could burnout all 4 tires like that! I wish I saw their face but I was too focused on the traffic.

What are your best idiot driver stories? I'm kind of scared of snowfall as no one else will have the forethought to get proper winter tires.

Whoa... I don't really have any 'horror' stories except for the drunk that ran into me five days after I got this car backing up half way down the street to slam into my whole driver side. lol

i had a plow truck back into my parked sti. i flagged him down as he was backing towards my car, still didn't do anything and pushed the front of my car 6 inches. He had a 2500 gmc, looked like just the bumper, fender and wheel(truck had salt dispenser).

He basically backed right into the front passenger wheel.

company wound up paying me $3300 to get it fixed. Needed whole new headlight($800 because of the hids and can't get the mounting clips separately), bumper, fender and lower control arm(glad downeast autobody found that, wouldn't have known), plus labor.

I have some sort of idiot driver story from every drive I have made lately along route 1 between Bucksport and Woolwich. People are getting extremely careless, playing the laws to their benefit and just overall being ignorant. I wish there was some way to make someone else pay for you rear ending them if they pull out in front of you. I could have collected 3 insurance checks in 2 hours.

It's only going to get worse. People these days are so careless it makes me crazy. I am on the road 7 hours a day at my job, so I see every idiot 10 times more than anyone. I've seen some things happen on the road that made me think about not wanting to have a drivers license...

I could probably tell a story for every time i get into my car haha

Just kidding.

I like my commute in the summer. There are days when I don't see any cars at all... I get to work early, leave late, and drive back roads. It's fantastic.

A line of oncoming traffic was coming to a stop when suddenly the last car in line pulls a blind, illegal u-turn into my lane, coming to a complete stop after not cutting their wheel tight enough. I literally had to slam on my brakes, from about 40mph, and stopped about 10 ft from their car. Just laid on my horn... for about 30 seconds until everyone noticed what he had done.

About 7 years back i was driving home one snowy night and just as im coming down this snow covered hill the on coming traffic spins out and comes across the lane and swippes me, sending my nearly mint 4000 quattro into a ditch. I can forgive a guy for loosing control of his pickup in that kind of weather but not when they have been trying to climb that hill for the last 1/2 hour and have no insurance. Luckly i got paid on a technicality. Seams if you sign up for a policy over the phone there are different legal rules for if the driver is covered by the policy holder over if they get a written signature in person. Better than that story is one that happened to a friend of mine in Mass. His WRX was parked outside a store when a police cruiser that had stopped to deal with some traffic issue rolled down the hill, driverless and smashed into the rear quarter of this car. Hit it so hard it broke both rear knuckles. Bet someone got a repremand for that.

hahaha well that would explain a lot haha jk

At work last week a guy that had been here 35 years got hit by an ahole. dave motioned him to stop, the guy motioned him to get out of his way. Dave stayed and the guy ran right into him with a murano. I'm trying to get him to sue for assault with a deadly weapon since the guy deliberately hit him. He's ok btw

Driving through Portland everyday you see a lot of weird stuff and horrible drivers. I almost got killed by a school bus. I was at an intersection where there was 2 lanes to turn left and I was in the left lane and the bus was in the right. The light turns green we both go, he cuts into my lane halfway through the intersection almost cutting the front of my car off and forcing me to almost hit head on with some poor old lady who was waiting at the light. There is no way the guy didn't see me I was sitting next to him for at least a minute at the light before it turned green. I hate busses.

It's times like that I wish I had a huge truck

i was on washington ave about to go through the light to get to 295 south saturday night, had plenty of room to change lanes and some guy just honked at me. Not sure what his deal was....he wasn't able to get close to me
