He wishes his car came out that well. The guy that did the body work claimed to know fiberglass bodykits. Basically when something didn't fit, he threw up his hands and said, "I don't know what to do". So he only got the front and rear bumpers on the car, on top of that he spent so much time fixing corrosion that he wasn't able to afford the originally planned paint job, so of the original 3 tone paint scheme, only the light blue ever got put on the car, then he had it clear coated so that he could have it back, he was sick of being without the car. The fenders and Side skirts never went on because fiberglass kits never fit right out of the box and he could not find a body shop that knew what needed to be done to make them work, and if they did know, it was going to cost more than he paid for the whole kit just to make the fenders or the skirts fit, not both. Now the car needs rear shocks and a clutch. Its too bad, because he really has done a lot to the car on a very small budget, but the more he does, the deeper the money pit grows. For a car that's only worth $1500 to begin with, its kinda like beating a dead horse. I suppose its partially my fault for putting so much effort in to my Pontiac (lead by example ra ra ra), but I reached a point where I knew it was time to stop sinking money it to it, so a got it repaired to a reliable level and use it as my spare and I don't beat on it anymore. So it finnally stopped being a money pit. Of course it was seeing 20,000 mi a year, now it sees about 5,000. The cavalier only sees about 5,000 miles a year too. For comparison, I put 24,000mi per year on the WRX since I bought it. Im at about 51,000 miles now, just 2 years and one month after purchase.
