if I decided to sell my car

Vertigo101

Once you go Subaru nothing else is the same
How much could I get as a private seller if I sold my 97 Cavalier with all the modifications I have done to it?

I know if I sold it to a dealer it be 2,000$

I am currently trying to figure out what the best way is to get me into a newer car say Subaru Impreza or WRX 2002+ Wagon model

My loan is paid off in August, I was spending 1.8k on my new computer parts and the rest would be for a subaru.

modifications typically do not add to the value of the car. This is especially the case when you have "personalized" the car.

But out of curiosity, what have you done to it?

I have a full drifter body kit from extreme dimensions, F1 Style fenders, Enkei T-fork 17" Rims, Erabuni Spoiler, Custom light blue paint job, K&N Air intake, Kenwood CD player.

that's about it. I do have a set of Z3 fenders in my basement not being used but there not even for my car.

Unless you did the supercharged 3800 swap I don't really see you getting 2k or more on a private sale. 95-99 Z24's sell for 1-4k depending on condition & someone's desire to actually have the car lol. There was a mint 99 Z24 convertible for 2k that sat for a long time before someone finally bought it. I thought about it but the automatic killed it. For reference I sold a 95 with a 2.3 HO swap, Vette brake conversion front & back, Celica seats, & RKSport ram air hood for the price of the hood. Kid came to get the hood for $700 I gave him the car

Lol... You don't drift a FWD... You slide it, there is no power to the rear wheels, a drift is done by spinning the rear wheels to the point of breaking traction in the sideways motion

You aren't going to get much for that car. Mods rarely add to a cars value, and can easily hurt it.

If a dealer actually offered 2K, that's probably as good as your going to get.

You might try selling it on http://www.j-body.org/

Why there is a j-body site... I don't even know. (I'm not a jbody fan)

Hmm well I may keep my car depending on if I find a Subaru in the right price range.

I will actually trade my car for a decent Subaru or sell it to get the car I want.

I am hoping to get any thing 2002+ subaru Impreza Wagon or Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon

I believe drifting a FWD car is called butt dragging.

You know like when a dog scoots across the rug because it has worms. lol But in all seriousness if you can get that much at a dealer I would go that root. Private sales would just end with dealing with low ballers. In a perfect world you could make the dealer look for the car for you.

He wishes his car came out that well. The guy that did the body work claimed to know fiberglass bodykits. Basically when something didn't fit, he threw up his hands and said, "I don't know what to do". So he only got the front and rear bumpers on the car, on top of that he spent so much time fixing corrosion that he wasn't able to afford the originally planned paint job, so of the original 3 tone paint scheme, only the light blue ever got put on the car, then he had it clear coated so that he could have it back, he was sick of being without the car. The fenders and Side skirts never went on because fiberglass kits never fit right out of the box and he could not find a body shop that knew what needed to be done to make them work, and if they did know, it was going to cost more than he paid for the whole kit just to make the fenders or the skirts fit, not both. Now the car needs rear shocks and a clutch. Its too bad, because he really has done a lot to the car on a very small budget, but the more he does, the deeper the money pit grows. For a car that's only worth $1500 to begin with, its kinda like beating a dead horse. I suppose its partially my fault for putting so much effort in to my Pontiac (lead by example ra ra ra), but I reached a point where I knew it was time to stop sinking money it to it, so a got it repaired to a reliable level and use it as my spare and I don't beat on it anymore. So it finnally stopped being a money pit. Of course it was seeing 20,000 mi a year, now it sees about 5,000. The cavalier only sees about 5,000 miles a year too. For comparison, I put 24,000mi per year on the WRX since I bought it. Im at about 51,000 miles now, just 2 years and one month after purchase.

I bet I will drive more because its a subaru.

That and I can drive in the winter hehe

I'd probably sell the car for whatever you can get and use that money on a down payment on something that hasnt been modified yet.
