The insurance for the guy that hit me says they " don't do medical bills" they only pay after all of the medical care has ceased.

WTF?? how the hell am I supposed to afford $350/wk?

Will your insurance cover until it is settled? Sounds like a shitty insurance company(not yours)... Best of luck Pedro

Talk to the hospital / doctors office. They can be real easy about stuff like this.

Then when you talk to the insurance company, be really nice to who ever you speak to. Ask to speak to their boss. But don't get un-rulely.

having a settlement in a year for less than the cost of my ongoing treatment isn't going to help.

and the grandma from Budget thought it was amusing that she was getting bills. .... grrr..

I am racking up some serious $$$ with PT 2-3x a week for the foreseeable future.

I have to talk with my PT office about this on Monday. My health insurance still leaves me with ~$100/wk in copays which is better, but not great.

My auto insurance has been fronting the bills until now PIP $5000 medical coverage.

get your health insurance company involved. because it was an auto accident, they will want to subrogate any monies you get from his auto policy. They WANT their money back, so see if you can get them to help fight it!

just tell the doctor whats going on, that their insurance will pay when its all over (maybe mail them a copy of that in writing) and pay $50 a week until its settled, then have his insurance pay off the full bill. hospitals are real good about small ass payments.

Yes the hospitals will work with ya on making small payment even $20 a week asa they know they cannot refuse you treatment so seeing you want to work with them they WILL work with you. A buddy of mine had the same problem he was a passenger in a bad crash and the insurance company said the same as your situation. His insurance paid the bills then put the car insurance company on notice so when the settlement came they got paid. Took 3 years and a lawyer to make them pay.

yeah the problem is that it is not the hospital I am dealing with. that was paid with the PIP. I am dealing with the Physical Therapist that is trying to get rid of my back pain, get my range of motion back, and the most serious... get rid of the effing headaches (they have been all day every day since the accident

I have an excellent PT guy in Portland. He may be willing to work with you. PM me if you want his info.
thanks man, but I work in Exeter. I do have a good PTist within 2 miles of my office. They do have "payment plans" if I get in too deep. But this is going to most likely go over the limits of the Budget rental policy.

Joe bornstien!

The limits that budget talk about are only tjhere until you start threatening legal action

no the limits are what the policy that they sell has. Which since the car was rented in Mass is the mass minimum policy of 20/40/5

$20k per person for bodily injury ($40k max) and 5k property.

way way way way way way way low compared to... um say Maine @ 50/100/25

which is why I've got my insurance set to 300/100/300
have you upped your PIP? they don't typically try and sell that to you since there is no commission on it.

The pip is basically a policy for your personal injury so that you don't have to deal with the other insurance company.
