Or does anyone else here think that Subaru's aren't really all that good looking???

Now, before you go and ban me for life let me explain.

I should probably start off by saying that I LOVE Subaru's. Had a 76 sedan as my very first ride. After that I had 3 4WD wagon's from the 80's (yes, I'm old) and those cars were great.

I had an 04 Outback that I really liked and apparently so do TONS of other Mainers cause it seems like every 3rd car I pass is an Outback.

Now I have an 08 WRX and aside from the scoop in the hood it looks like a granny's car. I mean really, think about it. It definitely DOES NOT look like it's a hot car.

Compare it to the Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang and the BADASS mother of them all the Camaro. Yeah, maybe it can hang with them or possibly even outperform them but you'd never know it to look at them.

Take a look at the Forester. Holy smokes, that thing is a breadbox with wheels. Lower that beast and put a scoop on the hood and you have a contender for the ugliest vehicle ever produced.

Rant over, you can ban me now.

 
a base model 08 wrx if left in stock form does almost dissapear into the granny car line-up. but i dont think mine looks like that anymore.

pictures dont really do it justice, but take a look at it sometime.

 
Just stick on an STI wing and everyone will notice you including the cops

I love the look of them, but I might be biased at this point. And when a muscle car tries to keep up and I walk away from them in my Forester, I love it even more!!

 
haha that's why i don't wave to most subies unless its a rex or a RS or something because 9x out of ten if its no one of the above its a 70 some odd year old driving...(sorry guys)

Seeing them in person really does make a difference. I am not the biggest fan of the '08+ sedans, but Nate has a really good point, a couple changes makes a big different compared to a stock look. Personally, I could stare at an '07 STi (WRB) all day and then come back the day after for more.

I agree, no doubts. I too have had 3 1980s versions. The thought and sight of steel alone, could allow me to drive it ugly as sin, and still think it is beautiful.

Upon wanting to move on, of course newer, I fond images of the newer bodies..there is even imprezas with a one way dryer vent looking thing behind the right rear plastic. Now they are installing excuses for lack of strong enough steel, that is only one evidence.

This cycle in japanese midget relapse will end with public opinion and american truth...and the weght rating. its like a 100mhz at the heart of it hyperthreaded with babble to 800mhz...it is still 100mhz at the real weight of it all, if to speak metaphorically...and 800mhz stamped on the importance of weight rating fibbed a bit. I feel bad for blind people and walletts enough to keep on going with it, and even claiming reputations that aren't existant today in the models driven.

I suppose that could earn me a ban at nasioc gangster club, been there done it. I hope maine area and subarus truth do not fall for market anytime soon.

 
that's why I bought a Saabaru... LOL.... I have always liked the looks of Subarus, but when time came to buy a new car, the Saab was a lot cheaper than a Subaru. Love GM discounts.

Hahaha Renshi theres nothing wrong with you your just an old man:p. Its a generational thing(except maniac somethings wrong with him). The whole "muscle car" fad doesn't really appeal to most of the younger people around today. I guess you could say we are from the fast and furious generation. Personally I am not a fan of foresters or most of the newer sedans myself. I have thought about a new comaro and I think they look pretty sick but if I bought one of those most of my friends would give me crap and I would probally have to start donning a mullet.

Even the sti is only a performance econobox its no sports car but hell if I will lose to one.

 
i think the problem is subaru liek a lot of other jap car makers have lost their edge. before in the 90's they made all the great looking cars that were unique and different. companys are now all about mass appeal but if they came out with a truly unquie looking car unlike anythign else that performed well it would be a huge hit for example the early 90's mr2 turbo's. i owned a 92 4 years ago and even withe the chipped paint everyone always came up to look at it. small light great performance and nothign else that looked liek it on the road. that's what subie needs

 
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and even though I am into Subies right now, had I kept my 64 421 HO Bonnie convert and my 89 SHO I still would love them also. It was love at first sight for them and the 1st time I saw the women I married many moons ago.
