is it worth buying a wrecked wrx for $1500?

front end smashed in. totaled.

engine and tranny had about 150k on them, car "ran good" before the accident.

I figure if the engine and tranny are good- then its worth the $1500.

theres no way the timing belt area didnt get smashed. that means bent valves.

150K is kinda high. And from the looks of it, chances are, there might be engine damage. Not worth it IMO, unless you're hoping to break even on parting it out...

this was my car back in november. timing case was hit. shattered. pieces rode between the belt and threw the cam timing off almost 5 degrees on each of the two left cams. and that was from a third the impact this one got.

so that motor is gone. looks like a lot of structural frame damage, only a body shop could fix that.

so id say no.

I wouldnt be trying to fix it, only parting it. but if the motors no good- prob not worth it to me.

although I still want the tranny
