It's that time of year

Not thrilled that the ticks and mayflies are already pretty bad around here, but I don't mind the moose (except when I'm driving at night). This one gorged itself on leaves for several hours.

Cool. I'll have to take a trip north here at some point. And I think you mean the blackflies, not the mayflies are bad?

Haha yeah I guess, but they don't bite!!!! And the trout love them!!!! Make for good fly fishing!!

I know what blackflies are like when I'm trying to work!!! They do the same thing, try to get in every spot they can, and they bite once they get there!!!

the ticks are terrible already...14 today after being in the woods for 3 hours:rant:

I have not had a screen on my window since I started renting here.. all day, all night.. not a freakin living bug.

I did see some green on the tortured hardwood tree outside, that is great.

I could guess the animals being lively this year...

May flies and black flies are not the same bug! I know this because I am a fly fisherman. There are a few different types of mayflies, and none of them are blackflies. Mayflies have two larger wings on a large body, with spinerettes that stick out the back. Some are bigger and greenish in color, and some are smaller and brownish and color. Blackflies are just little black flies with little wings that like to suck your blood!!!

This is a mayfly...
