As the title says, im asking some questions about a STI intake manifold and unequal headers.

First, an STI intake manifold. Intake Manifold, this is the link to what i am referring too. A friend who thinks he a know it all think if I add this, ill gain like 10-20 HP with the right tuning after to compensate for the increase in airflow. Is this true? And has anyone put this on their car or know a friend to do so? How well did it work?

Second, unequal headers. What is the big gain for these? I know it makes a good rumble but are there any performance increases? HP, Torque, etc.?

If you get a good tune you will gain 10-20 hp anyway. I feel like theres a better way to spend $600 if you want to increase hp.

i wasnt saying im gonna buy it...its that kid i work with who think he knows everything. just seeing if its true or not.

The difference between the STI manifold and your stocker is the wrinkle red finish. That is it. Plus, the STI manifold is not a direct bolt on for the WRX.

I had my intake manifold thermal coated wrinkle red and had it PnP'd. Even with that, gains are minimal. You're better off doing TGV deletes if you plan on removing the IM.

main thing headers will do for ya is hang down low and whack rocks and/or complicate fitment of a front skidplate.

piecemeal add-ons (headers here, intake there, etc) don't add much except complexity. Yeh, that plus a good likelihood of further problems due to installation screw-ups.
