i read his thread a while back and just happened upon those pics again, but from what i remember:
impreza wagon with some lift and big snow tires

repaint
his forded that water hole and made it about 1/3 way out and it came off the bottom, then he just paddled for a while till he hit the other side. he said that the only place it took on water was through the rub strip holes on the door where he had removed the strips during the repaint. other than that it was sealed up and ready to be a boat car.
