Just got back from an interview...

Didn't get the job I applied for. Wanna know why?

Me: Hi, I'm Jeremy, nice to meet you Nancy.

Nancy: Hi Jeremy. You're actually over-qualified for this position.

Me: *spends next 5-10 minutes explaining why I am applying for said position*

Nancy: Ah, I see. Well that is great! But now you are over qualified AND too motivated for our company.

Me: ???

Nancy: Jeremy, if I were working for any other company, I would hire you right now, no questions asked. You're just possess too much motivation to work in this company. Be prepared to be bored for 10 years.

Me: ??? >

Lady who interviewed me has been in the same position for 10 years. There's obviously little room for growth. But yeah, pretty funny.

At first I was like WTF?? But then quickly realized that I was happy she didn't waste my time.

Interview lasted like 10 minutes tops.

Maybe you don't like this idea, but NAPA stores are almost always hiring, most aren't open nights, and they almost always promote within the company. Pay can be pretty good and they LOVE motivated people. They are usually wicked fast paced. Just a thought.
