Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I'm glad I finally found a place dedicated strictly to Maine owners and not just all of New England! Glad to see the Dub is getting some interest. I really do miss that car! I had a lot of time and work tired up into her, but the Subi will be my next project once my financial situation allows. I'll post up some random pictures of the Dub throughout it's life.
I dont know how many feel about louder cars, but once I went Stage II on the GTI I started running a catless downpipe and a non-resonated exhaust. Here's a clip of it when it's just starting up, trust me, the camera doesn't do it any justice.
Here it is bone stock, the day my buddy and I both picked up our new cars:
Early on in it's life, up at our house in Bowerbank Maine. It's got it's first suspension setup on, Neuspeed Sport Springs
Jetta front conversion, the day of so It doesn't have the proper fog light openings yet! Still only on springs for suspension lowering.
When I used to work for a VW/Audi performance shop, we used to be allowed to enter events early to set up our booths, apparently someone got a nice shot of me driving in:
The final state she was in right before she was sold. Sitting on coils that are RAISED for the winter, believe it or not. Also sitting on factory 17" for snow tires! This picture was takin in the parking lot where I used to live up here at UMO. This is the setup she was sold in.
Lastly, I would still consider myself a hardcore dubber, but LOVE the Subaru and it's community (I'm here to stay, that's for sure.) A friend and I worked on a cartoon rendering of my car and the idea of a tattoo came into play. While I know I need to live with it for the rest of my life, and for many it's over the top, I really do like the decision I made and the way it turned out. It sure gets a lot of comments:
