Knocking in 1st and 2nd gear, near left door driver side.

At first i thought it was the wiper fluid splashing up against the walls of its container. Filled my wiper fluid and it was still there. I checked my wheel, yes it is missing a lug nut but i don't think that is because when i completely stop it's there for at least 2 or 3 seconds after. its coming from the drivers side, could it be something in the door. Its a low steady knocking. I cannot find it, its driving me crazy any suggestions?

Check your lugnuts. you will get a knocking sound if they are loose. and typically if you loose one, you are on your way to loosing the rest. other than that, stick your head under the car and check the inner and outer CV joints (under the rubber accordian boots)

does noise change if you poosh in clutch? if something is knocking AFTER you stop, it's unlikely to be wheel-related. chase down noise by checking parts that continue to move while car is stationary.

throw-out bearing

clutch disck

any/all moving engine parts

dead skunks hanging on underneath car, signaling to be let free??
