Here's some of the very first news on the 2010 Impreza lineup from Subaru Canada...

SUBARU CANADA ANNOUNCES PRICING FOR 2010 IMPREZA LINEUP July 17, 2009 Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) today announced pricing for its 2010 Impreza lineup. And the best news of all... Subaru will be bringing back the STI Sedan in 2011 !!!!

:ro: No hate to the hatch/hatch lovers, but the STI just needs to be a Sedan IMO!
they didnt change it to appeal to soccer moms they changed it for performance. less rear overhang for rally so they wont hit tress etc when takign corners. better arodynamics also lighter weight better weight distrabution and better breaks and faster in the 1/4. while i love the sedans and its what made me want an sti in the first place if they do bring it back they need to completly remodel it. all they have done inthe past is change the front lights and grill. its nice seeign something new. Hell i hated the hatch when i first saw it but the more i see it and look at the details the more i love it. i think it looks downright mean

The 07 sti is acctually the fastest in the quarter. The also softened the suspension in 08. The hatches are growing on me though. I saw a white with gold bb's and I was impressed.

^ I fully agree with you on that Kristof.

I absolutely love the 08-09 STI. They definitely look badass and are more functional and suitable for what they are built for compared to previous years. But I still think Subaru should give us an option of a hatch or a sedan. They did it for us Americans for the WRX, so why not for the STI

Not really built for what they were made for, I may or may not have heard from someone that has a lot of involvement in the building of a rally car that a certain motorcross champion drives. The suspension on the new stis SUCKS for rally racing, road courses yes...bumps through the woods no. 06-07 was better they said.

any sti is gonan suck out of the box suspension wise for rallying. you think and rally sti has any stock suspemnsion parts left? hell no. they did a softer suspension for better everyday driving so u dont get a back ache on a bumpy road out for a drive. they didnt redesign the suspension for rally but everythign else they sure did

actually you would be suprised at how many stock parts they really use. stock intake, they do use stock spindles and control arms. there are others as well.

this ^ says it is only in 5dr
Oh sorry I wasn't more specific on that part. I read over on NASIOC that a SOA Rep at WBM confirmed that Subaru will be releasing an STI Sedan in 2011. Should have said that earlier

Does anyone have a picture of the 2011 sedan yet? I think the only way im changing is if they release it in a 2 door coupe.

Not yet... but today Subaru Canada released specs and pictures of the 2010 WRX.

The reason the older rear suspension is better for rallying has nothing to do with the use of stock parts and a comparison of suspension stiffness from new to old; rather, the issue is with suspension design. They went to a double wishbone, and the double wishbone is not so good for rally. They tend to just rip the whole corner off the car....
