I am new to the forum so I appologize if this has come up before. Does anyone have the name of a good, local, independant service station for Subaru's in the Portland Area. I don't like any of the dealers around here and the regular garage has missed some Subaru specific things in the past.

M+A or Evergreen but they are both in the Lewiston area. For the safety of your car and piece of mind it might by worth the drive though.

M+A Auto is one of our vendors here, and they do very good work, and know their way around a subaru.

evergreen subaru is a great dealership, and will treat you right as well.

 
m&a / evergreen are worth the drive from portland. i'm actually making the drive tomorrow

 
if you have to have a place in portland then there is lake region subaru in i think westbrook

From the stories my friends have of this place these people are about as bad as it can get. Don't go to lake region!

I've heard good things about Chip's Subaru in Portland.

 
didn't we just have a thread somewhere about lake region? i'll see if i can dig that up somewhere. chip's looks cool just because it's a tiny independant. its right off exit 8 on washington ave

I know that in years past, my father has always trusted Lake Region. He is a mechanic himself and has bought several cars there. I can't say anything about whether the same people own/run it now though.

 
Hey you should check out Chip's Subaru Service Station. Located right near the Back Cove in Portland Maine, this shop has helped me out numerous times with my crazy questions and requests. I have all my big services done there and their prices are much better than the dealer. I would recommend them to anyone with a Subaru in the Portland Area. On their business card it says "Factory Trained Technician, Strictly Subaru Repairs". 518 Washington Ave Portland Maine.

If you just want little things done like an oil change/tire rotation stuff easy that you may not do yourself, Meineke on Outer Forest Ave is great! I bring mine there and Stan and the guys that work there really do a good job and are a pleasure to do business with. Best of all while you wait for your car you can check out Stan's nice black Dodge Viper.

Ive got to give a shout out to M&A they have been doing a lot of work on my car as of late and I drive there all the way from biddeford.
