Looking For Ideas!

DIRTY JBP

dirty boostin :D
So I have been thinking a little about Subaru lately and wanted to make it look a bit nicer. I am looking for a set of coilovers, new or used in good shape. I am also looking for some STI splitters and Sideskirts as well as fog light covers. A V-Limited lip wouldnt hurt either. Throw what you have at me for my car, Its a 2004 2.5RS and I am looking to spend some money on her. Also anything performance wise is also very encouraged. But mostly I am just looking for a little input on what brands you might use, or different companies where I may get some cheaper parts. Please help me, I am kinda lost with what I want to do next. Thanks!

I wasn't happy with coilovers for the street, ride is punishing. Better IMO to go with aftermarket struts/matched springs. KYB has a lifetime warranty and I have put that to the test:) Sway bars are always a nice cheap suspension upgrade

What kind of tires are you running? That will make the biggest difference handling-wise

You should consult with Yoshi Dorifto, he is the resident tarmac expert around here, although I heard he was called back to Japan because of the recent catastrophe

Injen makes a cold air intake, borla does headers and cat backs are about a hundred plus shipping on ebay

coilovers won't make it look nicer, they'll just make the car ride like a skateboard.

best bang for the buck is (more or less in order of importance, achievability and cost)

tires -- 225/50-16s look great, add good extra grip without spoiling ride on rough roads, and you don't have to buy new wheels to go along with em

sways --upgrade to larger diameter bars, going up a little helps a lot, upsizing a lot makes car much less streetable

intake/exhaust -- good sound makes car look WAY betta. I have generic CAI and borla clone headers on RS now and they sound awesome with STI takeoff catback

chrome or neon wiper blades -- autzone FTW

stickers (minimum 10 whp per sticker) collect at rallies, dragstrip, autoxes

hanging sheet from rear view mirror (dream catcher = 15 whp, disco balls 25 whp each, etc)

you get the idea.

Well, I did get some 205/50/16's on it just recently and added a new headunit and front speakers. Im thinking of Borla replica headers (or even used Borlas) and possibly a STI catback, unless anyone else has an idea for a catback/axleback that might work for me and be a bit easier. Anyone good with exhausts and may be able to help me throw this stuff on when I get it? I just don't personally have the space or tools to do it. But I think you are right Nigel, I need to pull a little boxer rumble out of this thing. I've decided to not go suspension quite yet, as the one I have now will more than likely get me thru another nasty Maine winter. Im thinking some STI splitters and a V-Limited lip would look some nice as well. If anyone can help me out with any used parts or know of a deal or can help me out with some installing, please let me know, trying to save a little money where I can. Thanks guys, you all have been a big help.
