Magnaflow CBE video clips

For those of you not on LegacyGT.com (I suppose many) here are some sound clips of the Magnaflow Catback on my Legacy. Sorry about some of the sound not being too good/too quiet. I know there is some background noise in some spots. The installation was pretty simple and the fitment was great. The only problem I really ran into was snapping one of Subaru's factory bolts connecting the downpipe to the midpipe. Oh and bouncing my head off the undercarriage, into my tiled garage floor and back into the undercarriage. I was like a bobble-head. A bobble-head that spewed profanities. The sound is great, but I still want more loud, haha!

Nice sounds. Coulda went perrin turboback. That would give you loud.
Ehhh, I'm not a fan of Perrin products (just a lot of bad word of mouth recently). I've also heard the fitment was off on their LGT exhaust from a few people. From what I heard of their exhaust it's really super loud, it's got a nice deep rumble just like the Magnaflow. I do LOVE the look of the Perrin tips. I was going to get a Greddy Evo2 originally. Even though the huge coffee can look is "ricer" it looks really good on the Legacy. I'm planning on going with an Invidia downpipe. Not to mention for $537 shipped to my door brand new I couldn't say no.

Yep, $537 from performance peddler. It's Magnaflow part 16747. Nope, no drone. It's really great sounding, and at the price I had to go for it.

i was thinking magnaflow for my car also but used a slide together and hose clamp fitament. is that the same setup with the legacy or did yours actually bolt together?

another reason i ruled out magnaflow is because it tappered down to 2.5" so couldn't put on a 3" donwpipe without work but yours sounds great always loved magnaflow sound

only thing it takes to go from a 3" downpipe to a 2.5" midpipe, is a $30 adapter. just about every aftermarket parts company sells them.

but then you take away the flow having it bottle neck down to 2.5" so i would imagine it would take away from performance somewhat

Yep, it does use that design. This actually doesn't bother me too much. Are there disadvantages to this design I should know about?

That's another reason I like it. Most of the 3" LGT downpipes I am looking at taper to a 2.5" anyways.

That makes sense, but I don't think the small bottleneck would have that much of a negative impact. Surely nothing you could feel via butt-dyno. Then again, I'm just guessing. The only real way to find out would be a flow test.

.
i dont know for sure but i would imagine long term it would always be better to have a bolted together system rather than a pipe clamp. ive heard a lot of people going and just gettign them welded together because liek me they love the sound and the price

Beautiful looking old V-Dub!! I wish my '59 looked half as good as this. Someone get me a few napkins and a change of boxer shorts hehe.
