Maine-iac in northern New York

Well, I sort of fell upon my Subaru by accident. I was driving home from from Fort Drum, NY to Westbrook, ME last Friday in my 2008 Dodge Ram and my transmission crapped out. $3,150 to repair. I had gone over the miles for the warrantee to cover it, so I was screwed. Almost in tears, I walked around the lot for a few minutes and then found thought, "I've got enough equity that I can trade out and just leave that hunk of crap here." So I did. I looked at a VW Jetta, Passat, and then, like the northern star shining on forehead of baby Jesus, appeared a 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX with only 48k miles. I took that bad boy for a spin and was sold. About 5 hours later, I was back on the road to Maine. I'm still a little miffed at the fact that I got ripped on a transmission on a 3 year old truck, but I'm quickly falling in love with my turbo charged honey.

So, to answer the question, how the hell did I stubmle across this website? Simple. One of the Matt's that is on here is my buddy and he own's a 2000 RS and is a member and proudly wears his sweatshirt. He also participated in the mass Subie ride a few months ago. So, here I am.

.

P.S. It sounds like the moral of this story is that Dodge Rams suck. True? False?

i am the matt in this story and very happy to have a friend with a subie, because i had no intrest in swapping that trans in the truck. The dodge made sense at the time but this car was a gift from the gods....went for a ride and she was super tight and boost is fun, plenty of room for the kids and dogs and low miles....

i dont know if hell be playing in the dirt or not but once hes done in new york ill see about getting him to some meets and the infamous group drive!!!! now its time for upgrades to the suspension and maybe some new rims.....glad you made it....

Glad you ended up with a good car in the end!!

Now it's time to get it dirty!! Driving sideways is more fun than driving straight anyway

Probably no dirt rides in my Scooby's future. My wife will kill me if I break this newest extension of my penis off.

no, a WRX wag is NOT a penis extender, it's a family friendly useful commuter that keeps the kids n wifey safe in the snow
Yes. Exactly. It's a Wagon, meaning it's meant to haul kids and junk around town. The fact that it also hauls DONKEY is a total coincidence
