RUST!!! :angry4:
The tube style running boards on my F250 have been looking kind of skanky, so I decided to pull them off and maybe sand them down and repaint them black. Well, pulled them off and found that the front mounting plates had been catching dirt and salt and caused the body work under them to look really nasty. Paint was peeling, lots of crud, just generally nasty. :sad5:
Then I tried tapping it with the handle of the socket to know some of the loose junk off...
It went straight through the metal. :BangHead: A 5" round hunk of the body work under the cab had completely rotted out under the running board mount.
Nothing structural or visible unless you're under the truck, but still.
Arrrggghhhh!
