I have to work. Who in there right mind would go into a dealership on a major holiday and get an oil change? A fudge head, that's who. Who in there right mind would make their service employees work on Memorial Day?...

So, tomorrow, Memorial Day, any and all loud drive bys thru the lot, and donuts (power circles), and any general nuisance is welcome. Or, if you feel like visiting feel free. I'll be standing around with my thumb crammed up my ass, buffin my tools, wondering why, if anyone, was looser enough to schedule service for their car on Memorial Day.

Once, when I was in the Army, I had to work Memorial Day, once.

You said "buffing your tools". It sucks I work till 7am then I will have to sleep a good part of the day, but I get double time and a half so I don't mind so much.

i gotta drive from ny (51/2 hrs with no delays) then i have to go right to work for 4 hrs.

who is ordering pizza on mermorial day?!

I dunno, Run... I've gotta deliver pie tonight too. 5-10 for me. I'm the only guy on, tho. So _IF_ it gets busy, WOO HOO!

Hopefully you get some big Memorial Day spenders and they tip well. I got one job today, a Volkswagen, and I couldn't really do much with it because Clair is closed. Soooooooooooooooo, I worked on my car! ;D Put 4 new struts in and gave it an Inskisharp Alignment. Approx. -0.9 camber, approx zero toe. New struts are KybGR-2s. So much better than 3 blown struts and one good one. Also aquired some new ceramic rear pads from my buddy Mike, gonna thro them on this week sometime and machine the rotors. My car is now 98% completely in tip-top shape.

Well that's one nice thing about working when it isn't busy. Nice shop to work in. You're able to do stuff for your car. It sounds like a productive day.

I thought it was Labor Day so I labored all day getting the new steps on the porch... then i cut the grass.

how many people came in for an oil change today?

shouldnt you get some sort of get out of work free card for being a vet on memorial day?

'Get out of work free' card.

That only works for dead veterans on Memorial Day. 90% of Vets are in the working class. Veterans Day is when I try to weasle out of work. 8)

We had 3 oil changes and one VW that came with a laudry list of 'concerns.' I stayed out of the waiting room. I was a good boy. I'm currently sweeping this weekend under the rug and moving on with life. No sense in dwelling on the negative.

I was just happy to get my struts in finally. I've had them for a couple months now.
