When I'm not working on my fozzy, I'm fixing this-

It's a 66 Buick LeSabre, Pillarless. 340 v8, super turbine 300 trans, 73k original miles. I'm the 3rd owner, but the 2nd owner never registered or drove it. It has been sitting since 1981. These pics were taken after a lot of scrubbing and cleaning, although I have yet to buff it.. so its not shiny yet.

siiiick! I love classic Buicks

. My favorites are the late 50s ones with the chrome line separating top half from bottom.

Are you keeping it that color?

nate: I do plan on keeping it that color, but maybe respraying it when I feel up to it.

I'm probably going to start with the body, as it runs and drives fine. the rear quarters need attention as does the trunk floor. just some minor holes. I might yank the motor/trans this winter to rebuild/reseal and paint. the worst part of the whole car is the weatherstrips are rotted and since its pillarless, it leaks pretty bad when it rains. I found the weatherstrips for the a-pillars/roof/c-pillars, but I can not locate the b-pillar strips that go on the glass for the rear wondows.

I might use this thread as a build/update so I can share my progress.

lol nailman... my buddy is a buickhead, and he already saw the gears turning in my head- "DON'T PRIME IT AND PUT DOG DISHES ON IT!" was the first thing he said to me:D

he's a purist though. I am a little, but I still might prime it black and drive it that way for a while;)

Oh man, between this thread and the Z thread I'm pumped to have some built threads to look forward to.

The more details and pics the better.

ahaha.. don't worry, I love taking pics, so there will be plenty! unfortunately my camera sucks, but I'll do my best.

next stage is to buff it and fix the rust...

Was the 340 the "Nailhead" engine. I used to have a 71 Riviera, ugly as since but could open a can of whoop ass on almost anything.

I loved my Buick, 455 ci, big HP and a torque monster.

the 340 is not the nailhead unfortunately. I wish it was! nailheads bring huge money now, but they are tougher than a bag of hammers. if the 340 pops, i'm definitely looking for a 401(nailhead)

That baby is in a lot better shape than mine. Good luck.

There was a guy in Mass that was trying to sell a '62 or '62 Ford Falcon, original 6 cyl. flat black. I would have loved to buy that. Having an old car to drive when the DD is low on gas it the way to go.

Is this car worth much money? I would guess that because it is a four door it isn't. If that is the case, you get to do whatever you want to it and not worry about losing value.

So I went for a ride in this thing the other night, and I've got to tell you guys it is so pimp. I felt like a gangster's wife in the front seat. I guess Luke is right, we've got to break in that big back seat.
