My Happy Subaru Story

so idk if any of you have been following my project

but basically i bought this 2002 WRX off a guy from westbrook

it needed head work and the motor was out (my father owns a machine shop)

im 18 and a senior in high school, i knew that buying this car in the condition it was in was a pretty big risk

but ive always wanted a WRX

it really was just a pile of parts

so i was just about finished with the heads when i noticed something missing in the engine compartment

the radiator.

with all the things i had checked on the car i completely spaced out on the radiator.

i frantically checked all my shelves where i had placed my parts and found nothing.

after picking up the various wrenches thrown about my garage i sat down in the car and tried to think of a logical solution. i knew it was going to be weeks before i could save up enough money for a replacement one

then i noticed a piece of paper folded up and stuffed into the center console. it was a repair order from Patriot Subaru in saco. (figures theyd leave me that information AFTER i payed them for the car)

the car had left their shop on march third, and they had been the ones too completely dismantle it

it was a long shot but i went for it. called them up. talked to someone in the service department.

gave him all the information on the repair order, and within 5 minutes he had found the name of the technician who worked on the car, talked to him. and FOUND MY RADIATOR! it had been sitting in the shop for almost 3 months, but they saved it. and saved my project. by the time he got back on the phone with me my radiator was sitting by the front door of the service department with my name tagged on it

thanks very much too all the guys at patriot subaru!

Please dont tell me you;ve been driving without a rad

I ran the Audi for an entire rallycross without a radiator, wasn't too bad. Well, the radiator was there, but there was absolutely no coolant in the thing.

put it this way

we met in a parking lot too sign the title over (last minute plan change do too jordans meat factory fire)

i handed her a bank envelope with the 2500 cash in it

she didnt even count the money, or look in the envelope too check if money was even inside
