My Subie hit 240,000 miles!

On my way to work this morning, my '95 Legacy wagon turned over 240K. All this past week I've been watching my odometer in excitement, and waiting to see all the numbers turn over hehe. I'm pretty stoked that she has made it this far though. I'm shooting for 300,000 if I can keep it running that long, but knowing my Subie made it to 250k would be good enough I guess hehe.

I know there are a couple other Subaru's on here with more mileage, but I'm still pretty happy to have reached this milestone.

We have a Foz in the showroom with 295k. It's in decent shape too. Doug was gonna drive it the other 5k to roll it over but he figured that's cheating.

Nice work. How many miles did it have when you got it?

If I remember right, it had 222k or round about when I bought it. Not bad. Some minor work, a new computer, and it's been styling.

still on the original motor?

holy crap, that is a lot of miles.

I had an 89' Cherokee limited with 225,000 miles when I got rid of it. The motor was fine, it was the electrical stuff was just shot.

It is not a lot of miles, but deserving. The more the merrier for any car!

I like to see the boxers rackng them up. every mention of subaru miles brings me to the odd 3 tone oe paint scheme of a 1987 subaru gl looking taller than the others, in back of darlings auto in 1995... 365k (american mph odom) original, and no fail on the inspection. At the time, looking at years at other turn ins, it still stuck out of the crowd.....that was 15 years ago...and I am still running one original.

I get humble reminders all the time with my conversations with my dad, this year is over 6 million miles for his owner operator trucking career. His new truck, with 500hp casual, just got its second set of rear bushings , at 473,000 miles...the truck is "still a baby". As one person, he took one to 1.3 million, in one truck, in 11 years. Holy crap. That is bordering the max of human ability.

even finding a car with half a million original..it is just not impressive.

^ um yeah it is, most people who only drive to and from work could never dream of putting that many miles on a gasoline engine before it blows up. an over-the-road truck now, that gets driven 16 hours a day. and being they're so damn expensive they always get fiexed before scrapped, hence the 2003 freightliner at whited with 1.4 million on it. diesel power ftw and longevity

^ exactly. except at work we get more like 70~120k out of them before rebuilds or replacing trannys... plowing is hard on the little 200hp detroit diesels
