need a subie gear box guru

My question is how durable/strong are the 5m/t's out of a 2000 leg gt? How much abuse/power can they take? And do they share the same 2nd gear weak spot as 02-03 wrx?

 
Not my intentions, I have an svx with some performance mods I want to put in a manual trans and don't want to spend the small fortune a sti manual trans goes for. I also don't want to put a glass gearbox behind it. I'm looking for something that can handle some mildly aggressive driving now and then.

 
If you are going to drive it like you stole it, get either the 6MT or the uprated PPG internals.

If you are going to drive it like a DD with some occasional hoonage, you will be fine.

Words of warning:

DO NOT upgrade the clutch disk or pressure plate.

DO NOT Force up or downshifts.

DO upgrade engine, trans, diff, and pitch stop mounts

Will, but it will take a while its a long term full resto-de rusto-go very fasto project car...I've been researching and compiling parts for a while, but somehow my 'to get/to do" list is growing faster

At least its a healthy hobby or addiction... for now

Ya its a 92 ls-l I snagged for dirt cheap and DROVE home on transit plates

Black leather and gray suede interior loaded.

I'm gonna fully document everything pics, parts list
