Need new front links... upgrade swaybar?

So I found out my front links are shot and need to be replaced. My links and sways are both stock. My question is, is it pointless to buy aftermarket links such as the Kartboy ones if I'm using the stock swaybar? Should I just upgrade the swaybars too if I have to replace the links as well?

Why not? It's a great upgrade! Get in touch with Evergreen and get a 27mm whiteline front sway bar. It dominates.

the front is where it is needed most. what you should do is limited only by the ammount of money you want to spend.

o yea and whiteline is where its at like ruggedman said

YES! Making the RSB bigger made taking corners waaaay more exciting. I got my rsb from Joel, I think It was 180? or 160?

Well since money is kinda tight right now, and school is starting soon, is it pointless to buy aftermarket front links if I'm gonna keep the stock sway? Should I just stick to OEM links if I'm going to do this?

The FSB is an essential upgrade, you can do the back later. If you have no doll hairs just get front endlinks and get the bar later.

I'd bet if you can scrap up the $200ish for the bar you'll be pretty glad you did.

Sway bars make a rediculas difference in handling on these cars. Better then almost any suspension upgrade.

deciding on swaybar setup depends on how you want the car to handle

if you are OK with how it handles stock, go for a bigger front bar. this will make turn-in a lot crisper on tarmac, but may cause understeer issues on snow or dirt

if you are unhappy about how your car is understeering in stock form, go with a larger rear bar. be aware that a larger rear bar can make a WRX very tail-happy on wet tarmac or on snow/dirt--a factor that some ppl discover only after exiting a forest road backwards.

if money is tight, just upgrade the front endlinks. this will make for snappier turn-in without causing major changes to how the car reacts to steering and throttle inputs while turning. you will probly notice increased road and tire noise due to the stiffer endlink bushins

I upgraded the stock endlink bushings on my 05 WRX wag to solid poly bushings, which have made the car noticeably easier to rotate with just a dab of brake, esp on dirt and snow. The difference in road noise is enough so my g/f asked "What did you break? Why is your car so loud now?"

I have the set of stock F+R endlinks that I took off my car when I purchased my endlinks (aprox 65,000 miles). I'd sell them to you for cheap, but I would recomend upgrading if you know that you are going to get a bigger bar at some point in the future.

I did one AX with WL bars and stock links and when I added the WL standard endlinks I did notice a big difference. On the street I don't feel like there was a whole lot of change, only really noticeable when I asked for a lot out of the suspension.

Well I've decided to just upgrade the front links for now... I will definitely pick up a bigger front sway later on. I'm going with the Perrin front links.
