So as I'm slowly floating into the US I decided to browse CL for subarus for sale. Mainly to see what options are out there. Well I found this:

I am inquiring about the car and a few of the details. Being the year it

engine maintenance? Also is it the 5-speed or automatic? Are all 4 wheels

disc brakes or are the rear drum brakes? What brand and model are the

tires? How deep is the tread?

What I am wondering is how much do you think I can honestly get for my car. Its the 1.8L coupe with about 160k miles. 30-33 mpg. No longer uses oil to speak of but has some body damage. KBB says its only worth 500 but I think that's a load of BS. Anyone want to throw an offer out there?

If I get some who is really interested in buying the car then I am going to pursue the obs. The AWD would be nice for winter where I live. Have you seen this car around?

 
if you're interested in the OBS, don't dilly dally. decent ones sell fast.

put your 1.8 up for $899, it'll sell a lot faster than if you price it too high.

 
I'm with Dan, I wouldn't take anything under 1k for a running, driving, inspectable car in Maine.

Unless it's a ford escort or some POS like that... don't screw yourself over.

 
Well I sold a VW that was about ready to go for 5 times what it was really worth so I am sure I can get $1100 to $1200 for my car. $900 is a little low and wont leave me with any money to register or do anything the car may need.

 
you wanna sell your fwd? is it 5spd?

I want it..I have someone that will buy my car tomorrow, but I don't have a replacement.

Yes I am considering selling my fwd. It is the 5speed. I am 10 hours out of new jersey at the moment and wont be at the airport in portland until 3 pm tommorow. I am waiting on a response from the person selling the car. I will call you while I am sitting in Philidelphia tomorrow around 1230 to 1 if that works.

Lol... after I posted it I remembered he had said something about buying my car off me. Figured I would see how long it took him. If you want to move this to the For Sale area you can.

I can't say if the sale will happen until I look at this car for myself. Anyone willing to meet me to look at it? I still haven't driven an AWD so I don't know how it should really feel.

I work 9 to 5 in portland. I'm pretty busy as of late, but contact me by phone and we can sort things out. If you want that OBS we gotta move quick.

 
I am going to send this guy an email saying that I can pay him cash, which I will once my car is gone, and that I want to look at it ASAP. If need be I will look at it alone. My parents, who help me out a lot, don't care because its my money and my name is on the car. I'm getting excited with the possibility of a new car, with AWD

 
Well I got my reply... its an autotragic. But from what a few have said on here they aren't as bad as we think they are. Any input on this?

If it works well, they're not terrible. I was expecting the worst with mine, and I actually ended up liking it. Especially once I tuned it up and found out how to wire powershift mode

Come take mine for a drive, mine works pretty near mint. If you want, I can take a look at it with you, I know what to look for in an auto.

Awesome. I know if an auto is working right for the most part just not with AWD.

The car has had the timing belt replaced and has tires with 5/8 inches of tread left and they were bought in '09. Sears special. It does have front disc rear drum(my favorite).

Maybe this car will get a 5speed some day
