Need Spark plug help

...for a friend. he just purchased some plugs and was wondering about changing them himself. I know my car is a PITA, but he has a 2003 Legacy wagon. Not sure what his engine it, 2.2? 2.5? What is needed for him to get it done? Or should he just have it done?

It is really an easy job. Took more time to remove things in the way then actually changing them. The wifes MY01 Forester.

Couple things

Flex head racket, A must. IMO

4" extention and plug socket.

Little trick is to spray some WD or cooking spray inside the plug socket so when you go to pull it out of the plug hole the socket does not stay on the plug 6 inches in the hole. It is a close fit.

My biggest problem was snapping a bolt that held the air box snorkus on the radiator support.

^ Thanks, I will relay the info. And also tell him to find this out himself, cause he has a Subie, he should be a member.

Forgot something. What about the gap? What should it be? I am not sure what he bought so I might be asking the wrong questions..
