has absolutely nothing to do with a subaru though.

I picked up a 1974 Sears ST-16 Garden tractor.

it looks kinda like this:

it came with a few 3 pt hitch toys as well. will post pix as I dig into it.

a little background on it:

6 forward speeds, 2 reverse

has a real transaxle

hefty steel chassis (unlike the current wimpy tractors)

sweet 70's harvest yellow and white color scheme.

there is apparently a front end loader that was made for them as well. can't seem to find one anywhere though.

a friend of mine has an old tractor that was left with their house. It starts funny, has a terrible clutch, and it used to shoot flame out of the muffler when turning off

off roading? WTF

it might be getting a bit of a lift, although I have to find some spare wheels for it. I found some ag tires that will fit the rear. that will make the breaking plow work a bit better.

 
There is a lawn mower racing club that runs at the Acton Fair grounds during the summer. If I find their name I`ll send it to ya.
