New STI muffler?

So I was down at Maine Mall Mubaru buying a birthday present for someone and i saw a huge ass muffler apparently for a wrx. They called it the sti "performance muffler" it was big enough to shove a cat in it. Any one know the story behind it? Whats the difference if any between the good old spt one to this? if its any good, for sound? because i doubt it would do anything for performance, and is it even worth putting it on a STI compared to the stock muff? part number is D0510FE000DS is any one want to look it up.

oh I want to trow it out there 35 bucks for a license plate frame? What the hell! ok done venting :violent4:

 
Well, the catalog specifies 02-05 WRX, not STI. While we know it would fit STI's, I'd fathom a guess it wouldn't be an improvement.

The SOA8377900 is listed for the STI, is $140 less and doesn't make much of a difference sound wise. A bunch deeper but not much louder. I haven't seen the one you speak of in person, but that's the listing I've got and my thoughts.
