New Suspension + Winter Tires + No Alignment == Scary Handling

So, I switched to the eibachs and I am going to be switching to stock springs and summer tires within the week. I am waiting to drop the $60 for an alignment until I have the setup I am going to be running.

Let me just say, this thing is SCEEEERRRRY, if any of you all see a Blue 07 STi with a debadged trunk, stay out of the way cause this thing has a mind of it's own. It is fine on city streets, but anything over 55-65, gets shaky, it jerks the wheel all around, and if I am braking it pulls hard. It is weird, it felt fine at first, then the suspension must have settled or something because it went downhill fast.

Guess I will have to deal with it for another wk or so until the tires come in.

On a side note, did some Toyota/Scion dealer have a blowout on TC's? These things seem to multiplying, there is one cruising around the Yarmouth area who is really pumped because he "smoked" an STI. Little does he know, my alignment issues kept me from actually racing him.

all your wheels tight on the car still (dumb question i know, but just making sure)

sounds to me like its the alignment..... not the springs.

Kinda sounds like how RallyJeep handles all the time. You get used to it...

Yeah the wheels are tight. I figured it was the alignment too. The only reason I brought up the springs, is that I am waiting to put the stocks on before I get an alignment.

not keeping the eibachs??? why not? i might be confused. you swapped from stock to eibachs... now back to stock?

if you're dumping the eibachs cause of the twitchyness of the car (due to the alignment) but like the feel, and ride height. then keep the eibachs.... just get alignment. dont dump them cause of the poor feel now.

No I switched from coilovers to eibachs and now to stock. I bought my car with coilovers and now I am trying to get to stock so that I can get a feel for it and then decide what I want to do with it. Plus, my interests, rally/rally-x, require the stock ride height.

After I had new front springs put in (one was broken...) my alignment was like that for a week before they had an available appointment I could make. It was SCARY.

But after having the alignment done it was oh so nice

I got my alignment done yesterday and it was almost spot on. The only wheel that needed it was front left and it was -.50.
