New To Subaru's, but not Cars!

Hello Everyone,

My name is Brian and I just picked up a 2009 Subaru WRX Hatch Premium! Love the car, and it actually goes better than I thought (feel sorry for the 2008 owners with the 40HP increase, re-tuned suspension and all, :\)... But anyways, I am new to the Subaru side of things, however not cars... I guess I had to go through some other vehicles before I found that I am quite content with this! My other vehicles were: 2006 Mustang GT, 2010 Lancer GTS, 2006 Eclipse GT, and a 2008 Equinox.

Now, a question for the experienced members here... These are the first mods (in order) I am looking at doing, any feedback?

- HIDS

- Tint

- Invidia/SPT turbo-back exhaust

- Perrin DV

- Injen CAI (after winter)

- Then tune it at an AWD dyno (which I don't know of one around here...)

- Then possibly upgrade to an STi turbo... and buy a Cobb access port.. But not 100% sure yet.

Anyways! Thanks

That's my old car! Glad to see it went to another m.s. member!

How are you liking it so far?!

II took excellent care of it. Oil changes and all servicing. Only time it went sideways was in the snow.

There are rallitek heavy duty front endlinks, so you should never have to change those. And a k&n panel filter. How do the tweaters sound?

post up pics we would all love to see the car..

the fist mods you have places are good choices but when you do a turbo back and intake your going to want a accesport to tune the car to stage 2 if not you will hurt the car badly. Or othere choice you had was get the turbo back, intake and get a dyno tune then you wont need a accesport, Also accesport only has limited maps out there for intakes so keep that in mind and another item as well you could add would be a boost gauge.

I've never hear of Kronos. I like my Accessport. But a protune will always get you more, but there is no one around here to do protunes.

there are a couple places in nh you can get tuned at which will protune a cobb ap or do opensource I prefer the cobb myself and have used them since 2005 on all my subaru's

FYI, I saw you mention upgrading to an STI turbo. Other members please correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure that your turbo is the same as the STIs already. The way that Subaru got an extra 40hp out of the engine was to swap from the WRX's good ol TD04 to the STI's VF52. There would be no advantage in the swap. Nice to see you on the forums man. You bought a nice car for sure, I know because I have one just like it in black.
