nissan wheel bearings

i thought about it but then ended up just getting a whole used knuckle. they're a lot more axially strong that the suby ones.

the nissan bearing was about the price of the suby one, but then you need to get it pressed into your hub, and that's assuming your hub isn't toast from the previous bearing dying (mine was). as i remember the bearings, 2 seals, and $10 to have it pressed came to about $80, and a used low milage hub from norms was $60 shipped to my door. i went that route.

if you're going to be road racing or anything i would suggest them though, or if you're dead set on new bearings.

yep. i think they're 20-30% stronger than the equivalent subaru bearings and about the same price. the axial load is when turning, so you get less wheel deflection from the hub on hard cornering, and hence probably longer life if racing.

i would suggest them to anyone with an 04 sti (small 5x100 hubs w/ brembos) because they have a problem with the bearing deflecting, then the rotor deflecting with the bearing/wheel, and it pushing the pads and pistons from the fixed caliper setup back away from the rotor. then the next time you nail the brakes theres a bit of sag to be taken up before the pads actually hit the rotor again.

That doen't look like a Nissan part #??? ???

What car do they come out of?

hey JB! want to come swap some hubs with me tomorrow? got 2 from silvers im going to slap into my car!

hopefully they are in better shape than mine..the donor car only has like 80k on it before it was wrecked.
