Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and to Subarus in general. I Just bought a 2006 Impreza 2.5i yesterday, and ran into Jason with the Forester XT while I was registering it... he directed me to Mainely Subarus, and here I am!

Welcome!! If you can, post up some pics of your new ride. Good meeting you at the Town Office. Do you actually live right in Waldoboro?

Welcome to the forum and to the lifestyle of SUBARU

Or maybe it should have been Soobie**, I really am a new, lol. Bratman, I'm originally from Waldoboro, and am usually there every weekend, but I have an apartment in Auburn.

I've only had it a day, and am already eye-balling performance parts

Scoobie works too!! Yeah once you start adding parts, it's hard to stop!! But from talking to you yesterday, it sounds like you have great ideas on what to get!! Keep us updated, and show what you get for it!!

Welcome to the club! Sedan or wagon? There are a quite a few members with cars similar to your's!

Sedan, 5 speed, looking to do basic suspension mods, short throw shifter, and then call it good.

I've got my motorcycle for speed, so I dont plan on investing any money on subaru engine mods

w00t for more 2.5i's! mod plans?
For performance, i'm thinking-------------

Rallitek Sway Bars kit - 349

KartBoy Short Shifter w. bushings - 120

Springs... Mach V? - 199

For other than performance I'm thinking------------

Rally Armour basic mudflaps - 50

Boss Audio underseat Sub - 110

Tint - 150ish

Other suggestions? Other than trading it in, or complete swaps

There are some great vendors on here that you may want to contact as well. And just an FYI, STi springs are a nice upgrade, and will give you a lower stance as well, and can usually be found for less than 100 bucks!!

Bratman is right about the STi springs. They fit on our cars, offer a stiffer more stable ride and lower the car nearly an inch. I bought mine from a member here for cheapo. The rear sway bar is also a good bang for the buck. I have a WRX RSB on my wagon (again bought from a member for little cash).....Evergreen has the shortthrow, Joel sold me on mine and I'm glad he did!

if you invest in rally flaps, don't go rallyarmor basic, they're a cheap piece of this plastic that warped on my car in a couple months, i traced them out on to a dump truck mudflap and cut them out, and this set has lasted me 2 years. i can make some for you cheap if you acquire mounting hardware.

also, i wouldn't invest big money in full sway bar kits, a used wrx bar will do plenty for cheap, all you need is the bar and bushings

Nice! I'm assuming just the 2002-2007 STI?
