Preparing for our vacation without the kids to Cedar Point park in Ohio for the 4th weekend....
Digging out all the digital capture devices we own and have collected as a couple.
2 camcorders, 3 digital camera's and a PC... all SONY barely anything compatible.....
The camcorders have different batteries that do not cross-over and thier USB interface cords have different ends.....Not that we use them for the digital picture part of it but they DO NOT use the same type of memory stick either. Also because of the age difference one use tapes and the other discs for media...
The three year old Sony A100 digital camera we bought in Cabo has some bizzare mutant shaped USB plug.... think I can find it in the plethora of cables lurking in this house....nooooooooooooooooo
The point and shoot cyber shot (yeah the one that tends to take better pictures and make better movies than anything else!!!!) uses yet another battery style, different memory cards and has it's own trainwreck of an interface cable.... at least we have the cable for this one....
now on to the Vaio laptop I got the woman for Xmas...It's pink cause "pink is her favorite color" ala Steven Tyler... Sony was kind enough to stuff a card reader in the side of the the thing that accomodates two differetnt types of cards... DO U think for one second either type is one of the two types I need to use in any of the above Sony equipment...Of course not:rant:
Then we get into the entire collection of A/C adapter and chargers to make all of this crap go...
At least the Canon camera's both use the SAME battery, the SAME charger, the USB cabling is a lot more common and the memory cards are identical other than her and I argue over who gets the faster ones...
Sony is taking the Gillette philosphy of selling the handles to drive the refill business to the next level...
