Oil Usage

Well let see what everyone else is using.

I got Mobil 1 5-w30.

Changed oil and filter at 9,394 miles.

Filled to the top hole on the dipstick 4.2 US qts.

At 13,200 miles I added 1 Quart and it is at the Halfway point on the dipstick.

So that's 3,806 miles. Used about 1.3 qts.

NO leaks and NO oily residue in the Exhuast. At least from the midpipe back. Air filter is clean.

I will be tracking it as time goes on to see if when it gets colder it may use less.

No blue smoke out the pipe at startup.

So what is everyone consuming between oil changes?

 
i'd try running it with a regular oil some subbys don't like mobil 1 and do better with regular oil

 
I've owned my 01 2.5rs for a year. Been running Mobil 1 5w30 since I bought it, and its never used any. I've put almost 30k on it, with 3k change intervals, with a grand total of over 150k.

 
Well I just did an Oil change. Switched to the Mobil Synthetic Blend 5W-30 Put exactly 4.4 qts total. Which includes filling the filter. The oil level is right in the middle between the L -hole and the F-hole on the dip stick. ( No hole jokes Gabe) We will see how it does with the blend.

 
amsoil full syn, don't keep track of mileage, but I add anywhere from 1/2-3/4 before every race (once a month or so)

 
so where do you find L-holes ;D all that is around here are F-holes
