Oil?!

Well .. the car was leaking oil before, and the other day we replaced the oil pan, changed the oil, and re-seated the vavle cover gasket. Filled it with oil and drove home. The next morning, it seemed to be a quart low in oil, and when it was started my friend said it was smoking blue smoke. I filled it with oil again, and I'm going to check in the morning ... We also replaced the motor mounts. What could we have doen that would cause the motor to burn oil? I think there's an exhaust leak, which probably resulted from tugging on the headers to reseat the engine.

Help!?

Even if you are burning oil there's no way you are burning enough to be a quart low in one day. That would be a lot of smoke!

I'll be interested to see if you keep loosing oil.

Alrighht, I'll check it before I head to work ... I dunno where it would go because it's not leaking onto the ground

No .. me being cookiein 'tarded. But actually, I'm not sure .. we changed the oil pan, and obviously changed the oil ... I cranked it over without starting it to get the fluid in the motor (did I need to do this?) I don't think I added more after that, so whatever was sucked into the engine I needed to technically add that much more (if I did in fact need to crank the engine to fill it)

Could that be where the oil went? Cause it's not dripping?

Since nobody else has said it.

You meatball!
So I'll take that as a yes? So that sound that I thought was an exhaust leak, which I don't think it is now .. could that be because of my stupidity? It's like a ... vibration that occurs between 2k and 3 or 3.5k ... but when I get on it I can't hear it and when it's idling I can't. Sounds like its fron tthe passenger side front, and it's REV related, not speed related. If I speed up and let off the gas it goes away, but if I hold the gas a little, it keeps going. Did I break something?

Check for loose things flopping around in that area. IIRC, the CAI isn't bracketed to anything. Could that be banging on the fender? Just a thought.

Could have sworn there's a small bracket supporting the MAF section of the intake in my SPT kit. I do know that after installing correctly, the end of my filter now is REAL close (as in ON) the inner wall of the engine compartment. HTH.

There's no comparison

It's not that. Sounds like a grinding kind of ... like when I turn the wheel and its locked up from the differential? It's like that, but less ... and it's from the front area.
