Ok, 1500 miles ago when we had the garage meet at Sergei's I changed the oil before doing the compression check on the car.

Now since then I have added 3 qts of oil to the car. It has been 1500 miles since then and I have noticed the oil not on the stick even after adding a qt hear and a qt there. Plus, I have noticed my oil is extreamly black even after doing he oil change and adding new oil to the car.

So I decided to drain it again tonight to see how much oil I pull out of the car. I only pulled 2qts of oil out of her!!!!!

So if you do the math I have added 3 qts plus missing 3 qts of oil when I drained it that is 6 qts of oil in only 1500 miles.

Could this be a turbo failure. I have noticed a lot of blackish smoke when I get into boost on the car. It just started doing this like 3000k miles ago.

There is no way I am loosing this much oil due to blow by. So I think it has to be the turbo.

Car still pulls and runs like a champ also

Compression numbers were about 140 psi across all cylinders.

I just don't understand where its going.... that's a TON of oil to just disappear. Seems like if you were burning off that much it would be smoking like a bastard!

With that much oil,and a bad PCV, pull a Intercooler pipe (turbo side) and see if its full of oil. Your front mount might be holding 6 quarts of oils. Its the lowest point in the system.

No puddles on the ground near where you park?

blackish/bluish smoke on boost is a bad sign of ur turbo = RIP

could be the PCV but a plugged PCV don't smoke

look to see if you have oil spotting at rear of car, if u see this it's new turbo time

don't axe how I learnt this.....

Chris, I do remember when you started your car to pull it out of the garage, she burped all kinds of liquid on my garage door

the oil spotting I'm talking about is not leakage from engine/underhood/undercar area, it's dots of oil spattered over back of car (bumpers, taillights, etc) from unburnt oil blown out tailpipe

Yup that's exactly where the burp came out of - tailpipe. It wasnt too oily though, but it was too much to be just condensate. Plus the car was not running for an hour tops, so not much condensate would've collected.

Nigel I think you are right. I just taked to some of the guys at Rallysportdirect and I told them what was going on and if it was possible the turbo it so blame. They pretty much said that more than likely that is the problem.

Yes upon startup the car does burb some spotty stuff out. Plus, when the car is getting into boost it is starting to poor black smoke. Sometimes it doesn't others it doesn't.

As it stands right now My uncle and I are going to pull the car into his garage. And we are going to pull the Turbo and I am sending it out to be rebuilt. so Friday I will snap some pics of the turbo.

^ checked here yet? that might be a long cleanup process while the turbo is out

maybe you have a bad turbo.

If you are burning oil in boost... then you have bad turbo seals... but another reason to blow oil (happend on my e30) is a bad pcv/ not enough crank case vent will cause oil smoke.

Sounds like you have a really bad turbo seal... pull the inlet pipe/intercooler/downpipe and look for oil.

O that's right you have an fp 20g. Im suprised that didnt go sooner. I killed 2 of those pretty quick.

maybe it was stixxx that kept flying through FP's. get a blouch and call it a day. it's time for the DOM

lol, you make me feel so warm and fuzzy on the inside there STInate.

I just got off the phone with Blouch. They are going to be able to rebuild my FP 20g. Will cost $375 to $475. Lil higher than FP rebuild but you see where going with FP got me. So I am going to spend the extra dough and have Blouch rebuild it.

STInate when both of your turbos went what was the problems you had before you had to replace them?

Isn't a new one like $850-1200??? Sell yours for $400 and get a new one! Why would you rebuild when you can go BIGGER for only a few $$$ more!!! That way the next time you see smoke you will know its def your motor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

Cause the wife is havin a flip fit right now just for me about to drop $400 bucks.

Also, the 20g is not made anymore. I have the 3in inlet on the 20g which you cannt get anymore. Only way to get a turbo with a 3in inlet on the intake side with stock location is to get a Blouch 3.0 or higher which cost $1800 bucks.
