I posted in the new england subaru forum, but I am local.
For those that mentioned wanting to run I learned a few facts.
last year they did 390 runs in two days, fastest run was 260, slowest was 134.
the landspeed racing forum has a lot of useful info for figuring out your car before it gets there...
top speed calc
an example:
if you know your top speed already, you can decipher how far you may want to go.
Above is accurate for the 3 main (it squares up to the torque, like aviator engine)
this is also useful:
tire rating site
example:
v rated needed to ensure 130mph (one step beyond)
gear ratio calc
if no transfer dual range, just type 1
I found this page to be exact to the mile an hour after checking a speeding ticket (I had a subaru that ran by tachometer to determine speed)
example:
the images are actual math according to my own little car.
if over 135 one needs to go cage, and defintions of stock or not stock change classes.
Not many have taken small to loring, but the vw rabbit racer.
I am surprised none of these super suby braggers local have not tried it yet.
just 5 runs (that is what I read, do not know if that is right) and its all written.
I would like to go, but if someone local went as well, the pros up there wouldn't be intimidating.
