petroleum in brakes

So my friend has a 1994 cadilac seville sts that's the pearl white color with 125k on it (v8 northstar) with brand new 20inch rims and tires.

He had the oil changed and someone put powersteering fluid in the brake master cyl.

He has had the lines redone and new calipers but it wouldnt bleed(probly never replaced the master).

he is going to sell it to me for $1700 (the rims where $2500 and are new) I figured with all new parts it would be about 750-800 to fix (replace all lines and calipers and booster and master)

or I could just reseal all the calipers and get a new master and brake booster for $250.

now these cars are worth about 4500 or so (its in perfect shape... he bought it in FL last summer).

is it more of a task then i think it is or can I fix it (I have done the brakes on my bmw and talon and sti) but Never done the entire system.

I was thinking about fixing it and then selling it on ebay. any thoughts?

it may be as simple as the ABS module needing power to put pressure in the system while bleeding.

for cheap you may have yourself a little fun project.

but hey, you're an adventurer, why not take a crash course in Seriously Funky Cadillac brake reconstruction?!

you'd be more likely to really make money if it was a subaru you were gonna have to sell afterwards. that STS doesn't exactly look like a Maine kinda ride. 8)

On a lot of 90's GM's, you need a scan tool to open the ABS one servo at a time or it'll never bleed. It could just be that. How long was the oil in it? Is the gasket on the master cylinder cap swollen? I'd make a quick inquiry with a caddy dealer.

I happen to recall some smokin' tires and a flame throwing exhaust...

yeah i was just reading that... the master cyl car was swollen but abunch of stuff was repaced and they couldn't get the brakes to blead... that must be why.

They ain't cheap. You'd be better off just bringing it and having it done. Assuming that's the problem.

yeah iam not gonna do it... two dealers said 400 just to bleed the system.

i got something else that's much better for me...

a 98 jeep cherokee sport 4x4 cheap off a friend of mine... no leaks. just missing two fender flairs and the front bumper plastic (new its gonna cost me $150 to replace)
