Plugged roof drain ?

My93 Impreza sedan had some water in the trunk. Seems to be a new issue as it looks like brand new. My question is i know there are drain tubes running down behind the rear tires behind the wheel well but I cannot see them. The drivers side just drips slowly onto the splash guard. (this is the side that the water is in) The other side pours out. Does anyone know how far up the tube is? Can I access the top of it from behind the trim inside the car next to the rear window? (C pillar). This little car sat in the ladies driveway when she did not drive it and it looks like debree (sp) in the channels.

Thanks for the help.

Early Imps like to leak thru taillight units as well. look for streaking/rust marks around the taillight housings. Fix is to pull taillights and re-caulk with silicone sealer.

If it IS your roof rail drains, look for drain exits down by wheel wells and blow lines out with compressed air. ditto for debris in the roof rail channels.

check to make sure your trunk is sealed tight and check to make sure your taillights seals aren't leaking

Tail lights good and truck seal is good. I could see it just slightly drip down by the trunk hing bracket. Chassis side. I checked it this morning and with all the rain last night and my Drive to work it had no new water, I did blown some air in along side the seal/roof channel and some debree came out. There is NO previuos water issue marks anywhere. Thanks for the advise

Clean out debris. Pull the corners of your headliner down so you can see the drain tubes. Pull the tubes off and blow some shop air thru them. It doesn't take much to plug them.

re-install tubes and pour some water right into the channels to verify they can drain well. You have 4 drains, one at each corner. You should see the water disappear from the channels and pee out onto the garage floor. Otherwise you'll see it pee somewhere inside the car and you can chase it down from there.
