If anyone is interested. The Portland Pirates are holding their second annual "Salute To Motorsports Night" this sunday when the pirates play the Hartford Wolfpack at 4P.M.. Some of the local Maine circle track guys will be in attendence with their cars. I will also be bringing out the Wazoo Racing 07 STI Rally car, Kristin and Maciek Przybysz will be with me representing Rally-America and the New England Forest Rally . I haven't met many of you, so it would be cool to see some more members come out and support your local motorsports.

The Pirates are offering a discount on Tickets if you get them online.

My work has 50 tickets because Napa is the sponsor but i gotta freakin work! Id love to go!

Bummed we cant be there with the multiple-championship-winning Last Ditch Racing rally car and team, there was some snafu on space available and we couldn't get in. (Trash talk filter ON now) Too bad the Maine hockey team's salute to motorsports will be missing the fastest rally Subie in Maine (and fastest in the R-A Eastern series for 3 years running).

Nigel,

As you know, Ken works for the Portland Pirates. He asked for the opportunity to provide expoure of local rally along side our fellow motorsports enthusiasts at the circle tracks. Rally has not been represented at this event before. The marketing director for the Portland Pirates was kind enough to squeeze one car into the event plus one table for New England Forest Rally info. It seemed appropriate that since Ken did the work, he should be able to bring his car (aka, the car Ken built). I am setting up the "booth" with flyers, posters, etc from Vermont Sports Car/Rally America/New England Performance Rally.

We should all be very excited that Rally is represented at this event. We, (New England Performance Rally marketing committee) are working on a number of other appearances all over Maine. You will be contacted about these events, we would love for you to bring the car down. Unfortunately, this was a packed event and we were barely able to squeeze in last minute. I do believe, in the future, they would be willing to free up more space for more cars. This is just the beginning.

K pleez don't misread my post. I'm very excited to have rally up there with the circle track guys--this is really really important. We've done these type of shows for many years and it's pretty funny how the circle track guys think rally drivers are nuts cuz of all the trees rocks ditches etc. Conversely, we think that guys who drive 6" from 25 other 2-ton cars going 185mph inside a concrete bowl are nuts. Who knows, we're probably both right! I know full well that circle track fans are a big part of the spectator throngs at NEFR etc.

Just expressing disappointment that we couldn't get in. You guys can fly the rally flag, do a bang-up job (bad word choice mebbe, given the way circle track guys like to trade paint) and as things progress there we hope there will be more attention and more space given to rally teams. If there's the chance, we'll be all over it.
