PS3 recommendations, please

I haven't played any games since GT A-spec first came out on PS2. I like driving games. I can't see shooter games, every night or dark room scene is just un-visible by me for some reason so I shy away from those. We have COD World at War, should I just play and get used to being blind? We'll be online in a week or so once we're feelin frisky with that game.

Have any other game recommendations?

 
Burnout Paradise. Cheaper than GT5 Prologue, and way more fun if you ask me. Then again, I'm more into arcadey racing than simulators. Oh, and you can't really go wrong with Grand Theft Auto 4.

My real recommendation though would be to get it hooked to the internet and start trying demos. You'd be surprised what you you might end up liking. My suggestions for demos that you should try are:

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

Burnout Paradise

Bioshock

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

Dead Space

Those are my personal recommendations mainly because they are the games that I own that have a demo on PSN.

Yeah that's the beauty with ps3 and x360 alike, just about, if not every game has a demo for it... that way you can try before you buy.

Another nice thing to consider is a service called Gamefly... it's like Netflix for videogames.

The service itself is a little slow because they're stationed in California, and don't have warehouses all over like netflix, so you have like a week long turn around, but for $15-20 a month or whatever, you can have 2 or 3 games at a time... better than spending $60 on that one player game you'll beat in 10hrs and never play again.

 
Thanks. The demo stuff sounds interesting. I'll see if I can get online this weekend. I have to wait in line, the kids are already teamed up with their buds for SoCom and COD. I needz a ton of practice. Its been a few years since I picked up a controller. 80gigs here, hope i can figure all this out. :confused2: So different than PS2.
