Question for ATT Wireless people....

I know some of you guys are associated with ATT, so i hope you can answer my question

I have a Tilt with PDA plan. Is there any way to remove PDA plan without it automatically renewing itself? And totally block the Tilt from going online?

If the only way to do it, is to get a non PDA devce, then does anyone have one for sale cheep?

yeah you can block the data. you're grandfathered in with the tilt where you don't NEED the data plan. if you want a simpler phone lemme know i can keep my eye out. call up 611 and ask them to block the data. let me know if they give you any flak. normally i'd just do it myself, but security crap around here has gotten more intense so i'd rather have you try it over the phone first

 
I tried yesterday (611) and the CSR, told me even if she was to cancel the data plan, it would somehow automatically renew itself, so she pretty much told me she couldn't do it. Any magic words i should use when i call them?

And if i dont have to get rid of the Tilt and block the data at the same time, i;d rather do that, since i use a few apps on it (that dont require internet access)

tell them to cancel it anyway. you probably have a feature on your account that says something to the effect of "SMARTPHONE EXCLUSION" this means you're grandfathered into the ability to cancel it. we now require that you carry a data plan on smartphones purchased or activated since like october
