Alrighty halfway thru replacing a busted hyrdualic line I hit a snag. I can't seem to disconnect the soft line from the hard line, probably due to rust.

Any tricks?, im on the verge of stripping it out.

Or can I just buy the piece or hard line already bent or would I have to bend it myself?

*running out to look at mine...wtf are talking about...be right back!*
The hard line that runs from the master cylinder, behind the pitch stopper thingy to the back of the soft line.

*disclaimer* i have not looked at what your talking about im just relating this to experience with brake lines *disclaimer*

if it's one of those captive nuts on the hard line that your about to strip out like brake lines, evil and i found that if you use course tooth vice grips you can get those off a lot easier then trying to use a wrench. for some reason the grips bite in and snap then loose with out striping them

hope that helps. if you need a hand or anything let me know.

its just like a brake line, use a brake line wrench if you have one, and work in some PB with a toothbrush and/or wire brush to knock away some rust. If you dont have a brake line wrench just use a regular one and work it back and forth til its unscrewing freely.

If it gets kinked or broke I'm 90% sure you can get that line from Shorty or Patriot or MeMall Subaru. Call early morning so they can get it for you next day

yes! like Akina said. If you pull the clip out you can move the line towards the eng. and muckle on to that dude with vice grips on one sde and another vice grip or wrench on the nut side.

Get that AC hose bracket out of you way and use bungee cords to move the wires and hoses for a more open work area.

Thanks guys!

Visegrips did the trip!!

Now how does one go about bleeding the system?

I had a length of tube and a ctach can but when I pump the pedal back and forth it only moves the fluid back and forth.

I assume I bleed the master then slave?

I am going to pick up one of those hand pump things tomorrow, I got enough pressure to allow the clutch to engage/disengage.

yeah...if it's like the Saab clutch...you need to pump it to get the fluid to move...the hand pump is the only way to do it...good luck Run...
